Shower Systems
Instead of installing a bathtub, more homeowners are beginning to spend more money on shower upgrades. Adding a second shower head, body sprays or a steam shower can create a truly luxurious spa experience. Again, homeowners need to consult a plumber to be sure their existing water lines can accommodate the added water demands of upgraded shower fixtures. If the lines are too small, water pressure will be significantly diminished in the shower.
Important issues to consider are how many functions will the shower have? Shower only? Shower and hand spray? Shower, hand spray & body sprays? Number of fixtures, style, and color will affect pricing not only of the material but the labor as well
During the construction of a shower the contractor will require the valve housing that make up the shower system during the “rough-in phase”. The shower system “roughs” are generally installed first and the trim (the product you see in your shower) will be installed at a later date when the job is almost complete.
